The Oasis WWF to Persano finds itself in the municipal district of
Serre, at northern Cilento,
the extension is
about 110 hectares.
The beauty to the
oasis should have
at grandiose
alluvial plain formed
by Sele´s river,
between
mountains Alburni
and Picentini: thanks
to
a dam creates itself
a invaso holdes to
a
hydrophilous wood.
The
flora constituted to black Alders, Willows and
Reeds, besides it is spread the presence
to Poplars white and black.
The
fauna is blooming, even if main attraction is
the otter, carnivore very widespread in the
oasis. Besides we can find Weasels, Polecats,
Badgers and Wild Pigs.
We don´t forget thousands of aquatic
birds presents in the oasis, including: Cormorants,
red Herons, ash-grey Herons, Nitticore.
