The Oasis of Gorges to Calore find itself in the municipal district of
Felitto at northen of Cilento.
The extension to this oasis is
150 hectares.
The environment presents
itself with a whole
of fluvial gorges
narrow and deep,
formed
to Calore river.
The
flora characterized to a grandiose variedness
of ferns.
In high we find thickets
with ash, ornello,
bay, viburno, alder,
maggiociondolo, alternating
at the maquis formed
by myrtle, lentisco,
strawberry tree,
broom, alterno, arboreal
heather.
The
fauna constituted to birds of prey like astore,
buzzard and kestrel;
besides we find green
woodpecker, jay,
blackbird
seller of water,
kingfisher, solitary
sparrow.
Amongst the mammals
stand out the otter
that
proved how the waters
of river are more
clean.
